DetailVerdict exists for one reason: to give people who care about their vehicles a straight, no-nonsense answer to a simple question, "is this product actually worth buying?" The detailing world is loud. Every bottle promises the deepest gloss, the longest protection, the easiest application. Most reviews you find online were written by someone who never opened the bottle. We built this site to be the opposite of that.
We test car detailing products by hand, in real conditions, and we tell you the truth about them. Worth it, or not. No hype, no fluff, no five stars for everything. And because our background runs deeper than the driveway, we bring the same scrutiny to the products used on aircraft, where the standards for finish, safety, and durability are far less forgiving than anything a car will ever face.
Why we created DetailVerdict
Detailing should be enjoyable, not confusing. Yet anyone trying to take proper care of their vehicle runs into the same wall: hundreds of products, thousands of conflicting opinions, and a flood of "best of" lists that all seem to recommend whatever pays the most. People end up overspending on gear they never use, or worse, buying something that quietly damages their paint.
We created this site to cut through that noise. DetailVerdict is a single, trustworthy place to find honest, hands-on reviews of automotive and aircraft detailing products, organized so you can quickly find the right product for the job in front of you. We do the testing so you do not have to gamble with your money or your finish.
Who we are
DetailVerdict is run by two people who do this work for a living and love it.
Sean
Sean runs a private and corporate aircraft detailing company, where the margin for error is measured in dollars-per-square-inch and the clients expect perfection. Detailing is not a hobby he picked up; it is a genuine passion built on a lifetime of being an automotive guy. Cars have always been part of his story, and that enthusiasm carries into everything DetailVerdict publishes. When Sean recommends a product, it is because it earned its place through real use, not because a brand asked nicely.
LB
LB brings more than twenty years of professional aircraft detailing experience to the table, including a role as training director for an aviation detailing organization, where teaching others to do the work correctly is the entire job. There are very few products on the market LB has not personally put through their paces, and that depth of experience is the backbone of our verdicts. When you read that something was tested, there is a good chance LB had his hands on it, and a very good chance he has already tried the three competitors you were considering instead.
Aircraft standards, applied to your driveway
The reason our background matters to you is simple. Aircraft surfaces are unforgiving. The finishes are expensive, the safety requirements are strict, and a product that streaks, hazes, or fails to last is not an inconvenience, it is a serious problem. Years of working to that standard changes how you evaluate everything. It teaches you what genuinely performs, what is marketing, and what can quietly cause harm. We bring that same rigor to the everyday products you would use on your daily driver, your weekend car, or the family SUV.
How we keep it honest
Trust is the entire point of this site, so we protect it deliberately. Every recommendation comes from real, hands-on testing, never from a spec sheet or an affiliate dashboard. You can read exactly how we evaluate products on our How We Test page. We also earn affiliate commissions on some of the products we recommend, and we are completely transparent about that on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Those commissions help fund the testing and keep the site running, and they never buy a better review. If anything, we tend to be hardest on the expensive products, because that is where buyers have the most to lose.
Our goal
Our goal is straightforward: to give anyone looking after their vehicle the easiest possible way to find the right products. Not the most products. Not the most expensive products. The right ones, for their car, their skill level, and their budget. If we can save you from a shelf of half-used bottles and help you get a genuinely better result with less guesswork, we have done our job.
